After a thrilling conclusion to the World Rally Championship this weekend in Wales, we would like to pay tribute to the organising team, the councils, the emergency services, the landowners and the thousands of volunteers and officials who worked so hard to put on such a world class event.
The rally’s new location in the heart of Cardiff Bay created a fabulous atmosphere throughout the weekend; there were many thousands of people around the Millennium Centre for the final celebrations of Sebastien Loeb’s sixth world championship on Sunday afternoon.
We are delighted that this weekend also witnessed a settlement with the Welsh Assembly Government over the sponsorship of the Rally of Great Britain and we now look forward to working closely with them and our other partners to deliver an even better event next year.
Without the support of the marshals and volunteers this event simply could not take place so, as ever, we are hugely grateful to them for braving the wind and rain and doing such a professional job.
