|The Tryton ZC001, manufactured by VAMEC, has been designed specifically for the Comer Cadet class. The carburettor is produced to fine tolerances, making illegal modifications much easier to identify, thereby creating a level playing field for all competitors.
The existing Tillitson HL166B will continue to be recognised for the Comer Cadet class until 31 December 2008 unless otherwise stated in Championship regulations.
However, the new Tryton carburettor will become mandatory for all competitors in the MSA British Cadet Kart Championship from the first round of the 2008 series.
Colin Hilton, MSA Chief Executive, said:
“The MSA needed to address a recent increase in infringements in this area and the new specification is part of our commitment to ensuring fair play for all competitors.
“Although the retail cost of the Tryton unit is more expensive than its predecessor, it is anticipated that overall the sport will save money as expensive ‘tuning` will not be possible.”
The maximum retail price for the new carburettor will be £99.95 + VAT. All technical and sales enquiries should be directed towards the importer and distributor, Zip Kart, on 01992 463371.
