National Court - 26th February

The Motor Sports Council National Court was convened today at the Royal Automobile Club as an Investigatory Tribunal to consider the evidence given by Mitsubishi Motors UK to the National Court on 26th November 2008 in appealing the exclusion of Guy Wilks’ Mitsubishi Evo IX from the results of the International Rally Yorkshire in September 2008.

Having considered all the evidence, the National Court Investigatory Tribunal found that Mitsubishi Motors UK had put the consideration of competitive advantage above that of safety and that this was clearly unacceptable.

The Court ordered that Mitsubishi Motors UK pay a total amount of £60,000 in fines and costs, but did not order any suspension or exclusion as a result of the findings.
